Remember: MICHELLE CHANCE for Position 5

Michelle Chance is a sixth-generation Texan, born and raised in Vancourt, Texas. She is proud to call Llano home.
She is a mother of four with two elementry age children at Llano Elementry and understands that schools are the heart of a community. She's deeply invested in the success of Llano ISD because her children will be here until they graduate, and their future depends on the decisions we make today. Like many parents, she wants every child in Llano ISD to have caring teachers, strong opportunities, and a safe place to grow.
Michelle served as a Captain in the United States Air Force, where she learned the importance of accountability, service, and steady leadership.
Today, she works as a business and technology executive, leading large teams and managing complex budgets in high-performing organizations. Her career has focused on building systems that work and helping good teams become great ones.

As a mother of four, Michelle understands the importance of a strong education. But beyond her own family, she actively contributes to education through writing STEM books for young learners and supporting local school programs. Michelle is a passionate advocate for policies that prioritize a world-class education, ensure our students are equipped for success, and provide a voice to our community in shaping the future of education.

Born and raised on a Texas farm and ranch, I understand small-town values and the strength of rural communities. Llano is home, and these values guide everything I do.

With two elementary-age children who will graduate from Llano ISD, I'm fully invested. Their success is my success. Their future is our future.

I manage multi-million dollar budgets, ensuring every dollar is spent wisely and efficiently. As your representative, I bring big-company expertise to our small-town district.
Nearly 67% of students in Llano ISD are economically disadvantaged.
Before we debate programs or policy, we need to focus on the basics:
For many families, these are the real barriers to learning.
Right now, much of this support relies heavily on community generosity. I believe we should make stability and student well-being a clearer, measurable priority of our district goals.
School should be a safe, steady place in a child’s life. We can do more to ensure disadvantaged students have the support they need not just to attend school but to thrive.
We must meet students where they are — and raise them higher.
English as a Second Language (ESL)
We struggle to provide consistent ESL support. It is critical that students gain English fluency as quickly as possible. The faster we close that gap, the faster students can succeed across every subject.
Targeted Tutoring
One-on-one tutoring is proven to be one of the most effective academic interventions. We need stronger systems to provide individualized support, not blanket approaches.
Gifted, Talented, and Advanced Programs
Our GT and Advanced Placement offerings lag behind similar districts. We should invest in:
Equity means every student gets what they need.
Everything depends on teacher quality and stability.
If we want better outcomes for disadvantaged students, stronger ESL programs, and more advanced coursework, we must attract and retain excellent educators.
That means:
Goal: Move Llano teacher compensation and benefits to higher competitive standards while preserving fiscal discipline.
When we invest in teachers, we invest in students.
I don’t believe in blaming the system — I believe in changing it.
Llano ISD is a recapture (“Robin Hood”) district. That means a significant portion of our locally generated dollars leaves the district, even though we have clear needs in our schools and community.
As a trustee, I will:
I will use my leadership experience and professional background to go beyond our district and drive positive change for Llano funding.
